FAQ
What does an AI code review tool do?
You paste a diff (or snippet of changed code) and it returns a structured review: logic bugs, security issues, and correctness problems, each with a file/line reference where possible, an explanation, and a concrete fix. Style notes come last, not first.
How is this different from a linter?
A linter checks rules (formatting, unused variables, obvious anti-patterns). DiffReview reviews the logic of the change: null derefs, race conditions, security holes, and behavior that breaks the surrounding code. Those are the findings a linter passes.
Is my code stored?
No. Diffs are processed in memory and never written to disk or logged by us. The diff is sent to a third-party AI provider (DeepSeek) for review โ see their data terms. We do not store your diff. This is a one-off review, not a codebase index.
Do I need a GitHub account or to install anything?
No. No GitHub app, no VS Code extension, no CLI, no repo access, no API key of your own. Paste the diff and review.
How much does it cost?
One review is $2.99. You get a free preview of the findings before you pay, and you only pay if the review is useful. No subscription, no per-seat license.
How is this different from CodeRabbit or other AI reviewers?
CodeRabbit and similar tools are built for repositories you connect: they need a GitHub app, a VS Code extension, or a CLI, and their free tier is rate-limited (a few reviews an hour) with the full experience on a paid seat. DiffReview is for the one-off moment: a private diff you want reviewed now, without installing anything or connecting a repo. Paste it, get a structured review, and the diff is never stored. Tradeoff: diff-level review, not codebase-indexed.
Your code stays yours
Diffs are processed in memory only and are never stored or logged by us. We don't train on your code. Reviews are generated by a third-party AI provider (DeepSeek) under their data terms. There are no accounts, no repositories connected, and nothing saved after the review is delivered.
